Plants That Clean The Air

Research conducted by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) scientist Dr. B.C. Wolverton shows that green and blooming plants are a great cure for indoor air pollution and a great way to fight "sick building symdrome".

The following varieties have been proven the most effective:

  • Chinese Evergreen
  • Dieffenbachia (see picture to left)
  • Dracaena
  • English Ivy
  • Pothos
  • Peace Lily
  • Schefflera
  • Spider Plant
  • Tree Philodendron
  • Weeping Fig
  • White Butterfly

Other very effective varieities include azalea, bamboo palm, bromeliads, gerbera daisy, mass cane, orchids and poinsettias. Pretty much all plants have a positive effect on your indoor environment. Harmful toxins are absorbed, so place plants where air circulates, and wash or dust your plants regularly.
