Sudden Leaf Fall

Rapid defoliation without a prolonged preliminary period of wilting or discolouration is generally due to a SHOCK to the plant's system. There may have been a large drop or rise in temperature, a sudden increase in daytime light intensity or an intense cold draught. DRYNESS at the roots below the critical level can result in this sudden loss of leaves, especially with woody specimens.
