Plant Care Tips For The Green Thumb Challenged

Nothing adds warmth and life to a room like a lush healthy green plant.

It's an economical way to decorate and clean pollutants from your indoor environment at the same time!
If you are bringing a new plant into your home or office the following general guidelines will help prevent many common problems:

1. Find a suitable home

Choose a location offering the light and temperature conditions appropriate for your plant. Most houseplants will come with care instructions which will outline optimum growing environment. Avoid the following danger spots:

    • between an open window and a door near an air-conditioning/heating duct
    • on the TV or radiator unless extra humidity is provided
    • on a windowsill with poor-fitting frames
    • in an unlit corner or a dark passageway
    • between closed curtains and the window during frosty weather

2. Keep your plants clean

Insects tend to migrate to dirty plants. Remove dead flowers and dying leaves, and keep dust from your plants by spraying periodically.

3. Fertilize your plants

Buy a good all-purpose houseplant fertilizer and use regularly, as directed on the package.
